The Shark Control Panel 2.1 software is the computer operating system for all Next Wave CNC Shark machines with a Non-LCD Pendant compatible control box. Please use the steps below to install and register CNC Shark Control Panel 2.1.
Non-LCD PendantCompatible Control box - A CNC control box not capable of utilizing the LCD pendant. A distinguishing feature is the Red Estop button on the left or right of the front panel. This was the control box for Shark machines made prior to 2016. See Pre-HD 4.0 machine list
****Depending on the computer settings and browser being used, downloading the installation Exe file may require you to right-click on the link and select "Save Link as" or "Save target as".****
1. Install CNC Shark Control Panel 2.1 build 25F (link below)
a. CNC Shark Control Panel 2.1 - Download
b. To avoid user account permission issues, please run the Control panel installation as the Administrator of the computer.
***Make sure to have the control box powered on and connected to the computer with an A/B (Printer) USB cable. ***
2. Once installed, Launch CNC Shark CP v2.1
a. A CNC Product Registration popup will appear
b. If the registration screen does not come up, go to Help, Register Your Next Wave Product
3. Write down the Controller ID that displays on your screen
a. Leave the CNC Product Registration screen open and proceed to the link in step 4.
***Your Controller ID will differ from what is pictured below.***
4. Go to https://portal.nextwaveautomation.com/ControlPanelUnlocker
5. Enter your First Name, Last Name, and Controller ID into the fields
a. It is recommended to enter your name in all lowercase because you will be prompted to type in your name in a few steps exactly how it was entered into these fields.
6. Once the fields are filled in, select Submit
a. A customer.nwa file will be added to the Downloads folder on the computer.
b. The customer.nwa file does not need to be opened.
7. Launch CNC Shark CP v2.1 
a. The CNC Product Registration screen should pop up.
b. If the registration screen does not come up, go to Help, Register Your Next Wave Product
8. Select Import Registration in the bottom right-hand corner
a. Navigate to the Downloads folder and select the customer.nwa file
b. Then select open
9. Type your first and last name into the text field how it was typed into the website with a space in between.
a. This field is case-sensitive.
b. Select OK.
10. Several success messages will pop
a. Select Ok on each one to proceed.
11. Once completed the Control Panel 2.1 software will open.
