Next Wave Tested Vacuum Pumps

While Next Wave CNC does not provide a vacuum pump with your system, we do have experience with pumps that have been proven to work effectively.

Required Specifications

Flow Rate:

• Recommended minimum: 3 CFM (1.4157 L/s).
• Higher flow rates may be necessary for multi-pod configurations.

Vacuum Pressure:

• Optimal performance requires at least 20 in/Hg (67.73 kPa or 0.6773 BAR).

The vacuum tubing included with Next Wave CNC vacuum pods has an outer diameter (OD) of 5/16”. To ensure compatibility, you'll need the correct fittings for your chosen vacuum pump. Below are some recommended fittings from McMaster-Carr. Both options are compatible with 5/16” tubing but have different pipe thread sizes depending on your pump’s inlet. Some pumps may require a fitting with a 3/8” or ½” thread, or a pipe adapter that works with the fittings listed below. Be sure to use thread tape when connecting fittings to ensure a secure seal.
