In this laser tutorial, we are going to show you how to import an image file and create vector lines from that image to laser engrave the Shark Logo above. We will then take those vector lines and step through creating an outline and fill using the Quick Engrave toolpath. Then we will end with saving the toolpaths as .tap toolpath files to run on your CNC machine.
***Before starting this tutorial, please make sure you have added the laser accessory to the Vcarve software, as well as added the necessary laser post-processor (Adding Post-Processors to Vcarve/Aspire). It is also beneficial to run the Laser Feed and Power Grid Testing file first, to help determine what Feed rate and power work well.***
To get started, download the Laser_Project_Quick_Engrave.zip at the bottom of this page. This zip folder contains the image file and instructions and is generally downloaded into the Downloads folder on your computer. Locate the Laser_Project_Quick_Engrave.zip folder on the computer, then right-click with your mouse, select Extract All, and then follow the onscreen instructions. Once the files have been extracted, open the PDF for instructions to create the Shark Logo Laser engraving.
